Observed on 22 April every year, Earth Day is a global movement dedicated to environmental protection, sustainability, and climate awareness that reminds individuals, industries, and governments that the Earth’s resources are limited. From pollution and deforestation to climate change and biodiversity loss, Earth Day encourages collective responsibility and practical solutions.
One of the most important solutions in today’s world is the growth of e-mobility. Electric vehicles, e-buses, and battery-powered transport systems help reduce dependence on fossil fuels and significantly lower air pollution in cities. As transport remains a major source of carbon emissions, shifting toward electric mobility can create cleaner roads, quieter cities, and healthier communities. It also supports innovation in battery technology, charging infrastructure, and green jobs.
Bijliride, a growing force in sustainable urban mobility, announced a special Plantation Drive as part of its continued commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and more responsible future.
The initiative reflects Bijliride’s larger vision of going beyond electric mobility and actively contributing to environmental well-being. As cities continue to face challenges such as pollution, traffic congestion, and declining green cover, the need for sustainable action has never been greater.
This Earth Day, Bijliride is connecting its business impact with environmental action through a unique concept. For each week of vehicle rentals, the company contributes to its plantation mission, turning everyday rides into a meaningful step for the planet.
Adding strength to the campaign, all Bijliride employees are coming together to participate in the plantation drive, showcasing the company’s shared commitment to sustainability and collective responsibility.
As part of the campaign, the team aims to plant 500+ saplings, creating a long-term positive impact through stronger green cover, cleaner air, and a healthier ecosystem for future generations.
Bijliride has built its identity around making eco-friendly transportation accessible and practical. By offering electric mobility solutions designed for daily commuting, the brand is helping reduce dependence on conventional fuel-based travel while promoting smarter and cleaner alternatives.
Speaking about the initiative, Vishal Vikram, CMO of Bijliride, said, “At Bijliride, sustainability is not limited to the vehicles we provide; it is part of the mindset we want to inspire. This Earth Day, our plantation drive is a step toward giving back to nature and creating a positive environmental impact for future generations. Every ride can create change, and every tree planted brings us closer to a greener tomorrow.”
The Plantation Drive also serves as a reminder that every action counts. Every electric ride contributes to lower emissions, and every tree planted contributes to cleaner air, better biodiversity, and a more sustainable urban environment.
Talking about the occassion, Kalyan Chakrabarti, CEO, Emaar India said, “World Earth Day is a timely reminder that sustainability must be embedded into everyday decision-making. This year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet”, which stresses on Individual/Community action for driving Sustainability. As part of this initiative, our focus should be on reducing plastic use which highlights the need for practical, consistent actions that lower environmental impact. Aligned with the Government of India’s efforts led by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on Climate Action, Energy Transition, and improved Waste Management Practices, there is a growing emphasis on responsible resource use and circularity across sectors.”
“At Emaar India, we believe responsible development starts with conscious choices, right from design and material selection to construction and long-term operations. Reducing waste, improving efficiency, and adopting more sustainable construction practices are key to building spaces that are both high quality and environmentally responsible. As we celebrate this day, we remain committed to doing our part, curating the path that supports a more sustainable future for our communities,” she added.
