Emerson Signs Exclusive Distributor Agreement with RED to Offer Automation Solutions for Indian Biofuel Market

REnergy Dynamics (RED), a company dedicated to advancing the bioenergy sector in India, has announced an exclusive distributor agreement with global automation technology and software leader Emerson to bring impactful automation solutions for Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) projects in India. This strategic collaboration is set to drive significant advancements in the bioenergy sector in India by introducing advanced instrumentation and high-accuracy flow measurement technology.

The Indian biogas market is currently valued at approximately USD 1.47 billion and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.3 percent to reach USD 2.25 billion by 2029. With automation layered on top of it, RED sees significant business opportunity in this sector over the next five years.

Kushagra Nandan, Chairman and Managing Director of RED, said, “We are delighted to collaborate with Emerson in India to offer Indian CBG developers access to Emerson’s industry-leading instrumentation and automation portfolio. By integrating these state-of-the-art flow measurement instruments into their projects, our clients will be able to improve efficiency and output at each stage of the CBG manufacturing process.”

He added, “The Emerson agreement aligns well with three of our four focus areas: the development of company-owned large-scale bioenergy projects; engineering, procurement and construction services to renewable energy developers; feedstock aggregation and its supply to CBG projects; and the manufacturing and marketing of CBG plant components.”

Bioenergy, a critical component of the country’s ambitious carbon-neutral goals, requires precision at every step to monitor and control the production and delivery of CBG. Automation can usher in significant value addition at each stage of a CBG project and help unleash the full potential of bioenergy in meeting the growing demand for clean energy in India.

Speaking on the occasion, Anil Bhatia, Vice President and Managing Director of Emerson’s India operations said, “Environmental sustainability is a business imperative for Emerson and our value chain partners, from suppliers and customers to employees and communities. Our technologies help them accelerate transitioning to cleaner, renewable energy sources. The collaboration with RED will drive greater adoption of sustainability-enabling technologies that reduce emissions and support better use of our natural resources.”

Varun Karad, CEO of RED, stated, “We are excited to join forces with Emerson in India to advance instrumentation and PLC-based automation for Indian bioenergy projects, offering significant advantages throughout the complex process of producing, storing, and distributing CBG. The process optimization achieved will help increase productivity, ensure consistent quality, prevent costly operational losses by boosting efficiency and reducing downtime, and, most importantly, enhance safety.”
