EKA Mobility Deploys Electric Buses for Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in Odisha

EKA Mobility, a leading player in the electric mobility sector with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands) as equity partners, has deployed state-of-the-art EKA 9M electric buses for Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT). This deployment has been carried out in collaboration with Travel Time Mobility Pvt. Ltd., reinforcing the commitment to sustainable and efficient urban mobility in India.

The buses have been flagged off (online / virtually) bY Chief Minister of Orissa, Mohan Charan Majhi, marking a milestone in the state’s transition to sustainable public transport.

Under the project, a total of 100 EKA electric buses will be deployed across the capital region, strengthening CRUT’s public transport network while significantly reducing carbon emissions and improving commuter experience,

The EKA 9M is a next-gen, zero-emission electric bus designed for sustainable urban mobility. With a sleek 9-meter build, it comfortably accommodates 35 passengers, including wheelchair access. Powered by a robust 213 kW motor and a 200 kWh LFP battery, the EKA 9M will contribute toenhancing the public transport system of Orissaoffering a clean, efficient, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional buses. With its advanced features, the EKA 9M can improve daily commuting, reduce carbon emissions, and provide a smoother, more comfortable ride for residents, making urban and rural connectivity more accessible and sustainable.
