Volks Energie to Power the Eastern Corridor with its Signature Solar + Battery Deployment for JHBDPL

Strengthening India’s renewable energy infrastructure yet again, Volks Energie announced a strategic win at JHBDPL (Jagdishpur–Haldia–Bokaro–Dhamra Pipeline Project) under the aegis of Gail India Ltd. The mission-critical project includes supplying, deploying, and commissioning 15 KWP Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants with Ni-Cd batteries, a Volks expertise, across 9 strategic locations in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.

Volks has consistently pushed India towards more sustainable solutions like solar energy and Ni-Cd batteries. These batteries offer up to 20 years of lifespan, thus offering a more sustainable and reliable alternative. Furthermore, this landmark project at JHBDPL for GAIL-India is a critical milestone in deploying off-grid energy solutions that are both sustainable and resilient for India’s rugged terrain and extreme climate fluctuations.

Commenting on the collaboration, Piyush Goyal, Co-Founder & CEO of Volks Energie said, “At Volks Energie, we are delighted and proud to win the project at JHBDPL and commission the deployment of our trademark and expertise in ‘Solar + Ni-Cd’ across strategic locations in North & Eastern India. With the use of Ni-Cd batteries, we ensure safety, endurance, and uninterrupted power supply, even in extreme or demanding climatic and operational conditions. We are honoured to be trusted with this great responsibility by GAIL & JHBDPL & look forward to contributing towards India’s futuristic aspirations of 500 GW from renewables and achieving a net-zero by 2070.”

As part of the association, Volks Energie will design, install, and supply 15 KWP solar plants across multiple zones. The deployment is slated to be completed by the end of this year. It will have contributed immensely to India’s renewable capacity and enhanced the operational reliability of one of the country’s largest pipeline projects.
