Volks Energie Bags Consecutive Orders from BPCL for Deployment of Solar + Li-ion Battery Storage Project for its Pipeline

In a significant development towards India’s green & clean energy goals, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has awarded Volks Energie a critical contract for commissioning Solar Photovoltaic and Li-Ion Battery and Charger System for its prestigious Irugur-Devangonthi Pipeline (IDPL) Project.

This project marks the second time BPCL has joined forces with Volks Energie for its pipeline infrastructure. While the earlier project was about pipelines between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, this one is for the Pipeline across Tamil Nadu & Karnataka. This is a significant development for Volks, as it reinforces the company’s growing prominence in EPC of Solar with Li-ion battery storage solutions for critical Oil & gas applications, empowering India with clean, future-proof, and sustainable energy solutions.

This project aligns with the national vision to decarbonise India’s oil and gas operations and enhance energy security across industrial corridors. The project features solar photovoltaic systems integrated with advanced Li-Ion battery storage that provides off-grid power backup for pipeline control stations and operational infrastructure. These systems will ensure power for critical equipment like SCADA, Cathodic Protection and other power needs in remote stations across the pipeline.

Commenting on this significant development, Piyush Goyal, Co-Founder & CEO, Volks Energie said, “We are extremely delighted and honoured that BPCL has entrusted us with another strategic and mission-critical ‘Solar + Battery’ deployment. It is a privilege that with each successful execution and deployment, we will ensure energy security for the nation by offering energy availability to critical applications in remote locations of the country and providing international-level safety to the equipment.”

This is a significant development, given India’s ambitious targets of 500 GW of energy capacity from renewable sources. The IDPL project is a testament to how modern, clean and decentralised energy solutions can seamlessly be integrated with national infrastructure, ensuring not only operational reliability but also helping India progress on its climate commitments.
