Challenges as a Woman Leader & How I Overcame Them

Traditionally, we find 99 percent of male colleagues in these industrial business sectors (B2B domain) for driving business. Me being the woman Business Leader – there have certainly been challenges, but I view them as opportunities to grow and break the barriers.

One of the key challenges I’ve faced is ensuring my voice is heard and respected in decision-making processes, especially in an industry where women are still underrepresented in leadership positions. In many situations, it required me to assert my confidence and expertise while being empathetic to the people around me.

Another challenge has been balancing the expectations of both professional and personal responsibilities. As a woman, there is often an additional layer of expectation to juggle family and career, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. I’ve learned the importance of creating a strong support system, whether through family, mentors, or colleagues, and setting clear boundaries to ensure that I can give my best both at work and at home.

To overcome these challenges, I focused on building a strong network of support and mentorship, which helped me gain confidence in navigating complex situations. I’ve also leaned into my strengths, such as empathy and collaboration, which have enabled me to build strong, inclusive teams where everyone’s voice is valued. Over time, I’ve realized that it’s about continuously learning, evolving, and empowering those around me to push forward with the same sense of purpose.

Future of Sustainable Mobility & Women’s Role

The future of sustainable mobility and energy is incredibly exciting, and I believe we are at the precipice of a major transformation. With increasing global focus on reducing carbon footprints and addressing climate change, the shift towards electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy, and energy-efficient solutions will only intensify. This will lead to more innovations in clean energy, smarter grids, and better-integrated systems that empower consumers and businesses alike to embrace sustainability in a way that is both efficient and accessible.

As for the role of women in this transformation, I believe women will play a critical part in shaping the future of sustainable mobility and energy. Historically, women have been underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields, but that is changing, and we are seeing more women stepping into leadership roles in technology and energy sectors. Women bring unique perspectives, creativity, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving, all of which are essential as we look to tackle the complex challenges of sustainability.

As leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, women have the potential to drive the adoption of sustainable solutions, design products that are inclusive and user-friendly, and lead teams in creating technologies that not only meet today’s needs but also anticipate the demands of future generations. At Delta, we’re actively encouraging gender diversity, not only because it’s the right thing to do but because we know diverse teams bring about the most impactful and sustainable innovations.

Advice to Young Women in Sustainability & E-Mobility

My advice to young women aspiring to enter the fields of sustainability, e-mobility, and renewable energy is to remain curious, resilient, and open to learning. These fields are dynamic, fast-evolving, and full of exciting opportunities, but they also come with their challenges. It’s essential to stay informed about new technologies, policies, and market trends and to continuously seek knowledge—whether through formal education, hands-on experiences, or mentorship.

I also encourage you to find mentors and build strong networks. Surround yourself with people who support your growth, challenge you, and push you to think beyond your current limits. Networking will also help you find opportunities and gain insight from others who have paved the way.

So, take that first step with confidence, and remember that every challenge you face is a chance to grow and make a meaningful impact.
