Motion Technology firm Schaeffler India joined hands with Don Bosco Training Centre in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune to launch an initiative to empower underprivileged youth in the sector of electric vehicle (EV) maintenance. Schaeffler India aims to train 180 students by the end of 2024.
On completion of the training, the students can use their skills to seek opportunities in leading automotive companies and authorized dealerships for EV vehicle maintenance.
A part of the Schaeffler Technical Enhancement Programme (STEP), the event was inaugurated by Andreas Schick, Chief Operating Officer, Schaeffler. The initiative will make a difference in the lives of people by imparting technical skills in the automotive industry.
The training hub will provide an extensive six-month long training to the students in the age group of 18-24 years. After the training, the students would receive a certificate from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
