MEAI-Ahmedabad Chapter’s 28th Foundation Day Raises Awareness on India’s Energy Transition

The Ahmedabad Chapter of the Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI), commemorated its 28th Foundation Day on June 14. Incepted in the year 1997, Ahmedabad Chapter of MEAI has completed a momentous 27-years journey, setting benchmarks on the mining sector.

Keeping the annual tradition on this occasion , a memorial lecture paying tribute to the Founder Chairman of the Chapter Late B K Antia was delivered by Rajnath Ram, Advisor (Energy), NITI Aayog in the esteemed presence of, S.N. Mathur, President, MEAI, L.S. Shekhawat, Vice-President (III) – MEAI and Swagat Ray, – Chairman of Ahmedabad Chapter along with other government officials, stakeholders and council members of MEAI.

The memorial lecture was followed by a technical session focusing on Critical Minerals and the application of AI in the Mining Industry. The session aimed at providing professionals with the state-of-the-art knowledge and advancements in these fields, guaranteeing that they stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.

S.N. Mathur, President, MEAI in his address mentioned how MEAI has helped all the mining professionals across the nation to improve the knowledge and skills through seminars, workshops, training sessions and other events.

Swagat Ray, Chairman of Ahmedabad Chapter on this occasion said “The celebration is our commitment to make a positive impact on the mining industry and the society as whole. By staying at the forefront of best practices, environmental stewardship, and safety standards, we anticipate shaping a more responsible and efficient future for mining operations.”

Post memorial lecture and technical session, the Ahmedabad Chapter’s 28th Annual General Meeting was held which featured Chapter’s Annual Award function.
