With an aim to accelerate EV adoption in India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has joined hands with electric vehicle (EV) charging station provider Statiq. This strategic alliance includes the development of a dedicated app for BPCL and the integration of its existing chargers including 2,000 AC and 800 DC chargers, into Statiq’s network.
With its expertise in EV charging software, Statiq offers the technological backbone that helps in the smooth integration and management of charging stations.
The software ensures the online presence of charging stations, easy process of payments, and real-time access to information related to charger availability and performance for users. At a time when Statiq is all set to expand its network and integrate more chargers into its system, such technologies with accurate information are the need of the hour.
Currently, Statiq has an extensive network of 7,000 chargers across 65 cities. The company is planning to expand this network to 20,000 chargers by 2025.
Designed to accommodate various electric vehicles such as Tata Nexon, Tata Tiago EV and MG EVZS, Statiq’s charging stations cater to the growing needs of EV owners.
“This collaboration allows us to leverage BPCL’s vast network, providing seamless and convenient charging solutions to a larger number of EV users,” says Akshit Bansal, CEO, Statiq, adding, that the company aims to create a robust EV infrastructure supporting the country’s growing demand.
