Q: Please walk us through the business journey of ZEVO India along with its milestones and crucial achievements.

Dhruv Bhatia: Our journey at ZEVO India began on February 14, 2022, with a mission to revolutionize the logistics and supply chain sector using electric vehicle solutions. We recognized a critical gap in sustainable mobility for businesses and set out to address it with innovative and efficient solutions. ZEVO stands out with its comprehensive fleet, ranging from 2-wheelers to 55-ton trucks, and pioneering refrigerated deliveries in India.

Operating in over 25 cities, we are supported by strategic partnerships and advanced technology integration. Our core values—Revolutionise, Enterprise, Synergise, and Scale—guide us in promoting green transportation and achieving substantial CO2 offsets. By 2030, we aim to be among the top three logistics and mobility brands in India, driving sustainable and efficient logistics solutions.

At ZEVO India, we have achieved significant milestones since our inception in 2022. We are proud to operate a diverse fleet of electric vehicles, including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, and trucks up to 55 tons, offering both refrigerated and non-refrigerated last-mile solutions. We have expanded our presence to over 25 cities across India, maintaining an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of INR 50 crores. One of our key achievements is pioneering refrigerated deliveries in India, capable of maintaining temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius over distances of up to 160 km. We have also partnered with various stakeholders to establish over 10,000 charging points nationwide. By integrating advanced technology and promoting zero-emission logistics, we are contributing to a greener future and setting new standards in the industry. Our goal is to expand our fleet to 10,000 vehicles and penetrate tier 2 and tier 3 cities, further solidifying our position as a leader in sustainable logistics.

Q: Are you excited about any upcoming partnerships or collaborations?

Dhruv Bhatia: Our partnership criteria at ZEVO are rigorous, emphasizing our partners’ track record in the electric delivery ecosystem and their commitment to sustainability. We seek alignment with our mission and the ability to integrate seamlessly into our supply chain. Mentorship plays a pivotal role in guiding our strategic decisions. Recently, we’ve forged significant alliances to bolster our service offerings. With Quantum Energy, we aim to deploy 5,000 electric two-wheelers, enhancing last-mile delivery efficiency while reducing emissions. This collaboration leverages Quantum Energy’s advanced EV technology and manufacturing capabilities.

Additionally, our partnership with Motovolt Mobility introduces 5,000 M7 electric scooters, ideal for urban last-mile logistics. Equipped with cutting-edge features like an LFP battery and IoT integration, the M7 aligns perfectly with our goal of sustainable urban mobility solutions. Moreover, our strategic collaboration with Zen Mobility marks a milestone in transforming last-mile delivery operations. By deploying 3,000 units of the Zen Micro Pod, designed for efficient urban navigation and eco-friendly deliveries, we’re enhancing delivery efficiency and reliability across major Indian cities. These partnerships underscore our commitment to advancing sustainable logistics solutions and driving the adoption of electric vehicles in India’s evolving mobility landscape.

Q: Can you brief us about your expansion plans?

Dhruv Bhatia: Our expansion plans at ZEVO are focused on scaling our operations to meet growing demand and extending our footprint across India. We are strategically expanding into tier 2 and tier 3 cities to broaden our market reach and serve diverse customer needs efficiently. This includes ramping up our fleet size across all vehicle types, aiming to reach 10,000 vehicles within the upcoming fiscal year. Additionally, we are enhancing our service offerings, particularly in the electric two-wheeler and urban delivery segments, to cater to evolving market demands and solidify our position as a leader in sustainable mobility solutions.

Q: How are you aiming to reduce the carbon footprint by optimizing the EV supply chain market of India?

Dhruv Bhatia: We aim to reduce the carbon footprint by optimizing the EV supply chain market in India through several strategic initiatives. Firstly, we prioritize the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) across our entire fleet, ranging from two-wheelers to trucks, thereby replacing traditional fossil fuel vehicles with zero-emission alternatives. This shift not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also promotes cleaner air quality in urban areas where our vehicles operate.

Secondly, we focus on enhancing operational efficiency through advanced logistics and route optimization technologies. By leveraging these innovations, we minimize the energy consumption per delivery, ensuring that each mile traveled contributes effectively to our sustainability goals.

Additionally, our partnerships with leading EV manufacturers such as Quantum Energy, Motovolt Mobility, and Zen Mobility enable us to integrate the latest in EV technology into our fleet. These collaborations ensure that our vehicles are not only energy-efficient but also equipped with state-of-the-art features that enhance performance and reduce environmental impact. Furthermore, ZEVO is committed to expanding its charging infrastructure nationwide. We are establishing partnerships with charging network providers and developing our own charging stations to ensure convenient access to charging facilities for our fleet and customers. This infrastructure development is crucial in supporting the widespread adoption of EVs and minimizing the downtime associated with charging.

Overall, through these integrated efforts in vehicle deployment, operational efficiency, technology integration, and infrastructure development, ZEVO is dedicated to significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the EV supply chain market in India, contributing to a sustainable and eco-friendly future for logistics and mobility.

Q: Could you shed some light on the market potential and challenges in the EV sector?

Dhruv Bhatia: The market potential for electric vehicles (EVs) in India is significant and growing rapidly. With increasing environmental consciousness, government incentives, and technological advancements, the adoption of EVs is poised for substantial expansion across various sectors including logistics, transportation, and personal mobility. The Indian government’s ambitious targets for electric mobility, coupled with rising consumer awareness about the benefits of EVs, create a fertile ground for market growth.

However, several challenges persist. These include the need for robust charging infrastructure, high initial costs of EVs compared to conventional vehicles, battery technology limitations, and consumer hesitancy due to range anxiety. Overcoming these challenges requires concerted efforts from industry players, policymakers, and technology providers to ensure scalability, affordability, and widespread adoption of EVs across India.
