In its endeavour to support India’s Net Zero Goal and push country’s growing global influence on Energy Storage, EV, Clean Tech and Green Hydrogen markets, India Energy Storage Week (IESW) has announced the participation of Ministries, Government Representatives, and Companies from over 20 countries including US, UK, Canada, Australia, France, Norway, Germany, Denmark , Finland, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Thailand and Israel.
Building on the legacy of a highly successful annual energy storage, battery & electric Mobility event, the India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) is proud to announce the 10th edition of the India Energy Storage Week (IESW) to be held in New Delhi from July 1-5, 2024.
IESW 2024 promises to be a groundbreaking event, supported by the Australian and Norwegian governments as country partners, featuring their respective country Pavilions. Scheduled to bring at the forefront of innovation and progress in the battery and energy storage ecosystem, IESW 2024 will not only spotlight traditional energy storage solutions like batteries and thermal storage but also explore emerging and futuristic energy storage technologies including Solid state batteries, Lithium Sulfur, Sodium Ion and other technologies from across the globe.
One of the distinguishing features of IESW 2024 is its spotlight on cutting-edge solutions. For example, global start-ups like LINA Energy from UK will showcase its sodium-ion battery solutions, while Galion from Australia and Blue Solutions from France will exhibit their Lithium sulfur battery technology and solid-state batteries respectively.
Moreover, the event will feature the prestigious ‘World Advanced Batteries Conference (W-ABC) 2024’, where global leaders from the Smart Energy Council (Australia), Singapore Battery Consortium, China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) and the Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) Council will convene to discuss global opportunities in batteries.
Dr. Rahul Walawalkar, President, IESA and Customized Energy Solutions, India said “Over the last 10 years, the IESW annual conference has become a good platform for bringing together all stakeholders across the complete ecosystem for stationary energy storage, e-mobility, and green hydrogen. This year, we have participation from 20+ countries including India, the USA, the UK, Norway, Australia, Germany, and many more. From India, too, we will have participation from across the spectrum, from startups to universities to large commercial industrial companies as well as many new industries looking at diversifying and entering this space.”
Denise Eaton, Trade and Investment Commissioner (Energy & Resources), Australian Trade & Investment Commission, said ““Australia is a natural partner for India, particularly in a future low carbon, resource efficient, and socially responsible global economy. India is fast becoming a manufacturing hub and while Australia moves downstream, India is moving upstream – there are so many synergies for India and Australia to partner for prosperity. We are thrilled to be the Country Partner for IESW 2024 and delighted to confirm that we have received strong interest from Australian companies travelling to participate in an amazing program of activities through the week and meet new potential Indian partners.”
As a platform to bridge global markets, IESW 2024 aims to showcase Indian companies and solutions to the international battery and energy storage community, while facilitating the entry of global companies into the burgeoning Indian battery market.
Cristian Valdes Carter, Director- Innovation Norway India, said “We are delighted and honored to be the Partner Country at India Energy Storage Week 2024, which has established itself as a premier platform for advancing collaboration and innovation across the green energy space, including batteries and energy storage, green hydrogen, EVs and e-mobility. Norway and India share a common vision of a low-carbon and sustainable future, and we are encouraged by the opportunities created through the collaboration and partnerships formed between our industries. We believe Norway’s participation will bring valuable expertise, innovation, and best practices, supporting India’s ambitious goals for decarbonization and a sustainable energy transition.”
Furthermore, as part of the U.S.-India Energy Storage Taskforce, the U.S. Department of Energy in collaboration with IESA will host a dedicated “US-India Energy Storage Seminar” during the event.
To delve deeper into long-duration energy storage (LDES) technologies such as sodium-ion batteries, flow batteries, pumped-hydro storage, and mechanical storage, the LDES Council will organize a roundtable discussion at IESW 2024 on July 3.
